Salaried; Exempt Description of Duties The Network/Systems Analyst assists in the development and maintenance of computer and telecommunications networks.
Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals, performs a variety of tasks and may lead and direct the work of others.
A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
Specific Duties Maintain, monitor, and enhance the campus Cisco LAN/WAN consisting of:
Gigabit-Ethernet fiber backbone, routers and switches, firewalls and IDS Maintain and enhance internal network monitoring systems Identify and correct information security issues on the router/switch level Assist in the evaluation of the University's future data and communication needs, new technologies, and products for IT delivery Conduct product evaluations and recommend hardware/software and support standards for IT purchasing.
Provide higher level support for the Technology Support Center in regards to Network and Cisco Voice related issues Participate in the development of policies, procedures, and resources in relation to the network Provides support for deployment and implementations of converge network and telecommunication projects Other duties as assigned by supervisor Education Requirements Bachelor's Degree or equivalent Industry certification preferred Experience and Skill Requirements 3-5 years' experience in the maintenance and operation of Cisco networks and routing protocols General working knowledge of Palo Alto security firewalls.
General working knowledge of Cisco Voice Call Manager Full understanding of network OSI model and TCP/IP implementations Full understanding of DHCP, DNS and VLAN design and management Experience with enterprise level network monitoring and management applications Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community Quick Apply.
